On the flake nature of some phases and structural components in steels

Abstract

The conditions and general laws of formation of flake phases and structural components in steels of austenitic and pearlitic classes are considered. It is shown that all the phases and structural components in the steels observed under a microscope as “needles” are in fact flake formations.
