Abstract

It is demonstrated that existing predictions of slump-type-settlement deformations are more than 1.5 times lower than the actual possible slump-type settlement of soils, which is observed under field conditions. Suggestions are given for determination of the coefficient of relative proneness to slum-type settlement, which adjusts noncorrespondence between predicted and actual slump-type settlements.
