Immediate pharyngogastrostomy following total esophagectomy by blunt dissection

Summary

A case of carcinoma of hypopharynx successfully treated with immediate pharyngogastrostomy after blunt dissection of the thoracic esophagus was presented, and the detail of operative procedures has been described. The advantage using this reconstruction procedure is discussed in comparison to other types of repair.
