Abstract

Recurrences occurring in twelve-year female identical twins 5 years after surgery for thyroid adenoma were reoperated. Both were shown to have Hürthle cell adenoma but one with a malignant potential. Microscopic study of these exceptional cases indicated that long-term follow-up is necessary before assuming benign nature of the tumor.
