Abstract

Serum content of free, oligosaccharide and protein-bound sialic acids, seromucoid components, and activity of sialidase are measured in rabbits with osteomyelitis induced by intraosteal administration ofSt. aureus. During chronic stage of purulent osteomyelitis the content of oligosaccharide-bound sialic acids is increased, while the content of seromucoid hexosamines is decreased.
