Mode-coupling effects in simple fluids measured by neutron scattering

Summary

After a summary of the relevant results from mode-coupling theory a review is given of the neutron scattering experiments that have given direct evidence for the existence of mode-coupling effects in simple fluids. The problem of determining the velocity autocorrelation function from neutron data is discussed in connection with experimental data on liquid sodium and on high-density hydrogen.

Dopo un riassunto dei risultati rilevanti dalla teoria di accoppiamento dei modi si dà una rassegna degli esperimenti di scattering dei neutroni che hanno dato prova diretta dell'esistenza degli effetti di accoppiamento di modi nei fluidi semplici. Si discute il problema di determinare l'autocorrelazione di velocità da dati sui neutroni in connessione con dati sperimentali sul sodio liquido e sull'idrogeno ad alta densità.

После анализа соответствющих результатов из теории связи мод предлагается обзор экпериментов по рассеянию нейтронов, которые дают прямое подтверждение существования эффектов связи мод в простых жидкостях. Обсуждается проблема определения автокорреляционной функции для скорости из нейтронных данных, в связи с экспериментальными для жидкого натрия и для водорода при плотностях.
