Inelastic scattering of positrons by lithium-isoelectronic ions

Summary

The inelastic scattering of positrons by 11 lithium-isoelectronic ions, (with nuclear chargesZ=4,5,… 14) is investigated for the first time within the framework of the coupled-static and frozen-core approximations. It is assumed that the elastic and positronium channels, in each process, are open and all excitation channels of the target are closed. The calculations of the total cross-sections are carried out by employing eight partial waves, (corresponding to 0≤l≤7, wherel is the total angular momentum of the scattering problem considered). Also, the effect of switching on the polarization potentials of the positroniums on the rearrangement cross-sections is investigated in details. Particular attention is devoted to the relation between the positronium formation cross-sections and the increase in the nuclear charge of the targets.

Riassunto

Si studia lo scattering inelastico di positroni da parte di 11 ioni isoelettrici al litio (con cariche nucleariZ=4,5,… 14) per la prima volta nell'ambito delle approssimazioni statiche a coppia e con nucleo congelato. Si presuppone che i canali elastici e del positronio, in ogni processo, siano aperti e tutti i canali di eccitazione del bersaglio siano chiusi. Si svolgono i calcoli delle sezioni d'urto totali impiegando otto onde parziali (corrispondenti a 0≤l≤7, dovel è il momento angolare totale del problema di scattering considearto). Si studia in dettaglio l'effetto dell'inserimento dei potenziali di polarizzazione del positronio sulle sezioni d'urto del nuovo ordine. Si dedica particolare attenzione alla relazione tra le sezioni d'urto della forma formazione del positronio e l'aumento della carica nucleare dei bersagli.

Впервые исследовано неупругое рассяние позитронов на 11 ионах с тремя электронами (сZ=4,5,… 14). Предполагается, что упругий и позитрониевый каналы, в каждом процессе, являются открытыми, а все каналы возбуждения мишени являются закрытыми. Вычислеия полных поперечных сечений проводятся с использованием восьми парциальных волн (которые соответствуют 0≤l≤7 гдеl есть полный угловой момент для рассматриваемой проблемы рассеяия). Также подробно исследуется эффект включения потенциалов поляризации для позитрония на поперечные сечения перестройки. Особе внимание уделяется зависимости поперечных сечений образования позитрония от увеличения заряда ядра мишени.
