Summary
A preparative PRODUCTIVTM CM, a new coherent ion-exchanger, column (250×10 mm ID) has been used to separate egg-white proteins without cell debris remover (CDR) pretreatment. Results showed that the productivity increased with the superficial velocity (Vs) and a very high Vs (9.2 m/h) can benefit the high productivity (87.4 g/l.h) in comparison with 6.4 and 33 g/l.h as reported by others. Despite the high flow-rate and high column loading, the resolution of the eluted peaks of lysozyme and conalbumin, was maintained at 1.16.
