Abstract
Thin-layer chromatography of DNA-bound lipids of thermolabile and thermoresistantShigella sonnei strains shows a lower content of neutral lipids and higher contents of polyglycerophosphatides and cholesterol in thermoresistant strains. This is regarded as a factor providing for the active state of DNA.
