Abstract

The mechanisms ofE. coli development during the lag phase are described on the basis of biophysical characteristics of the bacterial cell. A bioelectromagnetic model closely approximates the experimental parameters of the time course ofE. coli andE. aerogenes development in the mono- and mixed culture.
