Abstract

An electronic model of a salamander cone cell is derived to simulate the membrane potential changes recorded intracellulary in the salamander retina from flashes or steps of light. The electronic model is based on the theoretical work of Bayloret al. on turtle cone cells and employs hyperpolarising and depolarising conductances to generate the simulated membrane potential changes. These conductance changes and other internal parameters are monitored under the control of a minicomputer simulation system.
