E.M.G. operated electronic artificial-leg controller

Abstract

The paper deals with an e.m.g.-operated prosthesis controller for locking and unlocking of the knee joint in an artificial leg for an above-knee amputee. The controller is highly reliable in operation, uses less man-prosthesis interface and has a low power consumption.

Cette étude a pour objet d'examiner le dispositif de contrôle de prothèse commandé par électromyogramme (e.m.g.) pour les verrouillage/dé-verrouillage de la flexion de l'articulation du genous dans une jambe artificielle à l'usage d'une amputation au-dessous de ce dernier. Ce dispositif de contrôle est d'un fonctionnement fible, utilise un interface homo-prothétique réduit et ne présente qu'une très faible consommation de puissance.

Zusammenfassung

Die Arbeit befaßt sich mit einer durch EMG geschalteten Prothesensteuerung zum Feststellen und Lösen der Kniegelenkbiegung bei einer Beinprothese für einen Patienten, der über dem Knie amputiert wurde. Die Steuerung ist in Betrieb sehr zuverlässig, braucht eine kleinere Kontaktfläche zwischen Körper und Prothese und hat einen geringen Stromverbrauch.
