Es wird über einen anticonvulsiven Effekt des 1,3-Butandiol—die anderen geprüften mehrwertigen Alkohole Aethandiol, 1,2-Propandiol, 1, 2, 3-Propantriol, 1, 2, 4-Butantriol waren weniger wirksam—berichtet, der als Schutzwirkung gegenüber dem Cardiazol-Krampftod und als Steigerung der Reizschwelle für den Elektrokrampf in Erscheinung tritt
