Abstract
High Concentrations of the dopaminergic drug levodopa (L-dopa, L-3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine) administered to female rats in their food prevented the occurrence of mammary lipomas or recurrence of tumors after surgical removal. The mean life span was prolonged by L-dopa alone and to a slightly greater degree by L-dopa plus surgical removal of tumors.
