Abstract
In the glow curve method, lowering the heating rate effects only a small increase of the resolving power. A special procedure of evaluation yields a more effective increase of resolution if the monotonous temperature rise in the glow measurement is superposed by a great number of temperature oscillations (“fractional glow technique”). The upper limit for the degree of raising the resolution is calculated. It amounts 65 to 470% in the cases considered depending on the shape of the elementary glow curves and especially on whether the trap spectrum contains further groups of traps in the vicinity of those groups which are to be separated.
