Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

This study has made it possible to describe the basic tendencies of the properties of freshly placed concrete to vary when subjected to dynamic activity.

  2. 2.

The strength reduction of hydraulic concrete in the first 24 h of the cure depends on the level and number of loads and on the age (current strength) of the concrete.

  3. 3.

For concrete aged for more than one day, the critical displacement rate can be approximated by Eqs. (6) and (7).

  4. 4.

The stepwise character of the curing process of concrete is noted. Partial healing of deformations caused by dynamic activity is recorded in the initial atage.

  5. 5.

A well-defined relation between current strength and propagation velocity of longitudinal waves is established for curing concrete.
