Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

A theoretical system is proposed and a simplified postulation is formulated for the problem of thermally stratified flow in basins of elongated shape.

  2. 2.

A sample calculation made on an electronic computer illustrates the characteristic features of stratified flow and the possibilities of modeling it numerically.

  3. 3.

The proposed approach can be used for calculating hydrothermal phenomena in waterways and reservoirs of elongated shape, transporting cooling water from the discharges condensers of nuclear and thermal power stations.
