Abstract
Magnetic properties of Fe(110) films coated with noble metals are reported. The structural reconstruction of surfaces and films as a factor strongly influencing magnetic behaviour is discussed. The local structure ofB hf near the Fe/Cu, Fe/Ag and Fe/Au interfaces was analyzed. The changes of the in-plane surface anisotropy caused by the coating was found for the Au-coated films.
