A key problem in processing polymers into fibres via solution

  • Published:
Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Conclusions

-- From a brief examination of the problem, two conclusions follow:

-- Closed systems with respect to technological solutions ensure attainment of ecological requirements which are imposed in the manufacture of fibres spun by the wet method, but only in those cases where an organic bond is realized between the character of the process of precipitating the polymer from solution and the regeneration principle in working up the technological solutions.

-- The evolution of scientific approaches to regeneration processes in the preparation of fibres from solutions is characterized by a constant improvement in traditional technology and in regeneration equipment, but not by a change in the regeneration principle itself. The use of recent achievements in applied electrochemistry in solution technology for fibre preparation has strongly changed its structure and the material intensity of manufacturing.
