Consideration of the effect of a change of position of plumb lines at large hydro developments

Conclusion

Reservoir filling causes a change in the positions of plumb lines at large hydro developments by 1″ and more. The corrections due to such changes exceed the accuracy of determining settlements and horizontal displacements of dams and their foundations and therefore must be taken into account.
