Anion exchange of uranium and thorium in ketone media

Summary

In the present work the adsorption behaviour of uranium and thorium was investigated on the strongly basic anion exchange resin Dowex 1 in ketone media containing hydrochloric or nitric acid. As a result of these studies two methods for the separation of uranium from thorium in acetone solution were developed.

Zusammenfassung

In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde das Adsorptionsverhalten von Uran und Thorium am stark basischen Anionenaustauscher Dowex 1 in salzsäure- und salpetersäurehaltigen Ketonen untersucht. Es wurden zwei Methoden zur Trennung des Urans von Thorium in acetonhaltiger Lösung entwickelt.
