Abstract

Mössbauer measurements, in conjunction with magnetisation and susceptibility studies, show that in Fe2TiO5, and other insulating spin glasses, spin freezing occurs via cluster formation where spin glass phase diagram transitions occur not for individual spins but for groups of correlated spins (clusters) whose effective spins' longitudinal and transverse (or vice versa) components successively freeze.
