Perturbation factor calculations for nuclei slowing down in gas

Abstract

The time-differential and the time-integrated perturbation factors in γ-γ angular correlations are obtained for ions recoiling in gas. For a stationary regime, the Scherer-Blume model is used and analytical expressions are presented. For a variable correlation time, the main characteristics of the perturbation factors are analysed through an adiabatic extension of this model.
