Summary
The prescription of weak prisms may induce monocular diplopia or binocular triplopia. The monocular double image is due to internal reflexion at the glass-air interface. The intensity of the secondary image is very weak (0.2% of the primary image). The prismatic deflection of the secondary image is six times the deflection of the primary image.
Zusammenfassung
Die Verordnung von schwachen Prismen kann eine binokulare Triplopie verursachen. Diese entsteht durch innere Reflexion in den Prismen. Das Doppelbild ist um das sechsfache der Prismenstärke verschoben und ist um 99,8% abgeschwächt. Bei einfacher Entspiegelung ist das Doppelbild noch sichtbar, bei Super-Entspiegelung jedoch nicht mehr.
