Isolierung und Differenzierung von Adenovirus Typ 8 bei epidemischer Keratoconjunctivitis in Leipzig

Zusammenfassung

In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird über die erfolgreiche Anzüchtung und Differenzierung von Adenovirus Typ 8 berichtet. Von 17 Patienten (22 erkrankten Augen) konnte in 12 Fällen ein cytopathogenes Virus isoliert werden. Alle 12 Virusstämme gehören zur Adenovirusgruppe, 7 davon wurden als Typ 8 differenziert, 5 Virusstämme waren mit den zur Verfügung stehenden Typenseren nicht einzuordnen. Es handelt sich bei ihnen weder um den Typ 8, noch um die Typen 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, (9) oder 14. Adenovirus Typ 8 wurde in allen 7 Fällen nur von Augen mit typischen Hornhautbefund isoliert.

Summary

A report is given about successful isolation and differentation of adenovirus type 8. Out of 17 patients in 12 cases could be isolated a cytopathogenic virus. The 12 strains belong to the group of adenoviruses. 7 of them could be differentiated as type 8, 5 of them could not be differentiated with the type sera disposed at present. They belong neither to type 8 nor to type 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, (9), 14. Adenovirus type 8 was obtained only from eyes with typical corneal involvement.
