Summary

Field investigations at settlements in Didessa valley and Angar valley in Wollega province, Ethiopia, suggested the presence of drug-resistant strains ofTrypanosoma congolense.

Laboratory experiments using mice confirmed a high incidence of resistance to homidium bromide, a phenanthridinium drug.
