Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Due to the fact that the roughness of lined canals is not stable, the norms should indicate the values of the design roughness coefficients in accordance with the purpose of the corresponding computation.

  2. 2.

In elaborating the new norms, it is advisable to reduce the range of possible values of the roughness coefficient for some of the lining types. The indicated measure requires from the contractor a guarantee that certain absolute values of the roughness will not be exceeded.

  3. 3.

The norms for selecting design roughness coefficients should be the same for all the departments.
