Construction of flow profiles for sections of a hydraulic drop

  • Published:
Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

In the regions of rapidly varied flows occurring at the ends of hydraulic drops and in the entrance zone of broad-crested weirs, Eqs. (4) and (5) are applicable. The simpler relationships Eqs. (6) and (7), which are in agreement with the above assumptions, can be proposed and serve for an approximate calculation and point-by-point construction of drop profiles. The free surface velocity can be calculated from Eqs. (12) and (13).
