Conclusions

• 1. The experience of hydraulicking work on the Dnepr-Donbass canal convincingly confirms the great value of progressive forms of construction organization and payments, and also socialist competition, the conditions of which take into account the specific characteristics of construction.

• 2. A further increase in the productivity of the dredges excavating the Dnepr-Donbass canal, along with taking the necessary organizational steps, requires equipping the work with bulldozers, tractors, and pipe-layers according to standards which take into account the specific construction conditions.

• 3. Research should be carried out to study processes for stabilization of the excavation and siltation of the canal bottom for the purpose of reducing repeated cleaning.
