Conclusions

  1. 1.

The proposed method of computing the thermally stressed state of a block on a rock foundation makes it possible to determine with sufficient certainty and for a wide range of basic data the real picture of combined action of a block and foundation in an elastic setting as well as when taking into account prolonged processes.

  2. 2.

Results of computations carried out with the proposed method show that the approximate accounting for creep and aging of concrete in blocks on resilient foundations (without considering the effect of these properties on the boundary conditions of the problem) leads to considerable errors in a number of cases.
