Papers Meeting the 50th Anniversary of Soviet Power

  1. 1.

The proposed method of calculating buttresses for the effect of forces in an active joint gives a sufficiently good agreement with experiment.

  2. 2.

Compressive stresses arise in the active joint on the upstream face of the buttress from the effect of the force.

  3. 3.

When Eb=E0 the base noticeably influences the distribution of streses only in the lower part of the buttress with a height 0.25 H.
