Conclusions

  1. 1.

The experimental construction of a model of a portion of a precast reinforced-concrete dam consisting of prismatic blocks, by adhering to the manufacture and erection techniques to be used for the actual structure, has confirmed the basic soundness of the adopted technical schemes.

  2. 2.

Tests carried out on a frame of this new type of trussed cellular dam, by measuring the deformations of the elements, have permitted establishing its high overall strength.

  3. 3.

Comparison of the forces in the structure members as measured during the tests, with the forces found analytically, has shown good agreement and has permitted demonstrating the applicability, in the design practice, of the exact and approximate methods of analyzing the structure.
