Conclusions

  1. 1.

Experimental work on the selection of concrete composition must be done under temperature and humidity conditions representative of the construction region.

  2. 2.

Use of a plasticizing admixture is imperative in regions with dry, hot climates.

  3. 3.

Selection of the optimum amount of admixture must in each case be determined experimentally.

  4. 4.

The good quality of concrete work in the construction of the Aswan hydrocenter was achieved to a considerable extent by the complete set of investigations carried out beforehand under conditions most closely approximating those of the construction site.
