Conclusions
-
1.
The minimum sand content in a hydraulic mix necessary for the hydraulic fill of tailings is directly related to the plan form of the slurry pond and its dimensions.
-
2.
Hydraulic fill of slurry ponds is possible if the following conditions are observed: a) with diminishing grain size of the sand, its content in the hydraulic mix must increase accordingly; b) with diminishing content and grain size of the sand, the specific discharge, unit weight, and viscosity of the hydraulic mix must also diminish.
