Conclusions
-
1.
On the whole the reversible units and equipment of the purnped-storage plant are serviceable and meet the requirements of reliable operation.
-
2.
When developing the technological systems, control of the units of a pumped-storage plant should be automated and telemechanized, and switching from one regime to the other from the same pulse (command) should be provided for, thereby reducing the number of operations with elements of the system.
-
3.
When planning pumped-storage plants and designing components of reversible units it is necessary to take into account and use the operating experience of the Kiev plant. Special attention should be paid to the following problems: a) provision of reliability and speed of the systems for admitting and releasing air from the runner zone when switching the reversible units into a pump regime and an investigation of direct starting without expulsion of the water; b) reliable, durable, and simple locking of the blades of the guide apparatus during operation of the reversible unit in a pump regime; c) minimization of leakage through the guide apparatus; d) reduction of power consumption from the network during operation in a synchronous condenser regime e) operation of all equipment of the pumped-storage plant with a double fill-empty cycle.
