Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The concreting technology work adopted during construction of the Chirkey arch dam, including the delivery of concrete by cableway, intrablock mechanization on concrete and preparatory work, and the stringent sequence of preparing and concreting the blocks, permits performing work with a high quality and labor productivity, providing for raising the dam 7–8 m per month.

  2. 2.

In order to further improve technology it is necessary to increase the speed of the cableways and their reliability, improve control of the bucket valve, and introduce motorized power buses or power buses on rails.

  3. 3.

The means of intrablock mechanization developed at the construction site proved its high effectiveness and can be used under any climatic conditions on blocks with a small area and with reinforcement. It is expedient to create a family of such plant-manufactured machines, which will increase their reliability and output.
