Conclusion

The Seminar clearly established the promising trend of scientific research on the themes developed by the Soviet scientists and the need for further efforts in the following directions: a) a study of the physical nature of the hydraulic resistance in alluvian rivers; b) a study (with appropriate physical experiments) of the interaction between the flow and the shifting bed and the development, on this basis, of the problems of riverbed processes and riverbed morphology.
