Conclusions

  1. 1.

The grouting and sealing of cracks in the scroll cases of the Chkhorotsku hydroelectric plant by means of polymer compositions developed at the GruzNIIÉGS gave favorable results and has ensured a high quality of the work carried out as well as normal operation of this plant to the present time. As a result of the use of polymer materials instead of a steel plate lining, a saving of 70,000 rubles was obtained because of the reduction of the time required for the repair work (in this case by a factor of 15), according to the estimates of the Gruzglavénergo.

  2. 2.

The procedure developed and used by the GruzNIIÉGS for sealing cracks in concrete by means of polymer materials has demonstrated its practical value, and its wide use may be recommended.
