Conclusions
-
1.
In the determination of the thermal-stress state of arch dams the shape of the site and other characteristics of the dam have a substantial effect upon the consideration of the construction and loading sequence.
-
2.
In dams of the type of the Chirkeisk dam, built in narrow sites, the effect of the construction and loading sequence upon its stress state can be distregarded, since this effect is small and is on the whole favorable:
-
3.
In dams of the type of the Ingursk dam, built in medium-width sites, the effect of consideration of the erection sequence upon the temperature stresses is insignificant; its thermal-stress state is improved on the upstream face and is worsened on the downstream face.
-
4.
In dams of the type of the Sayano-Shushensk dam, built in wide sites, consideration of the construction sequence yields the maximum effect; the thermal-stress state is worsened for a large portion of the dam (with the exception of the downstream face of the cantilever.
