Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The device developed at the GrusNIIEGS and the technique of testing specimens isolated within mass concrete by their direct loading permit obtaining data on the deformation properties of concrete in a structure. This increases the reliability of calculations to predict the state of temperature stresses of massive structures during their construction. In addition, knowledge of the deformation characteristics of mass concrete is necessary for a correct analysis of the results of full-scale strain gauge observations of the behavior of a structure under operating conditions.

  2. 2.

The possibility of a substantial increase in the effectiveness of tube cooling by alternating the connection and disconnection of water in the system at certain intervals (from 8 to 24 h) was confirmed experimentally. An increase in the effectiveness of the system in this case is achieved by the migration and accumulation of heat around the tubes during the break periods due to natural heat conduction, thanks to which, when the water is again turned on, there is an intensification of heat abstraction per unit time of action of the system.
