Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The graphical and analytical relationships obtained and the methods for determining the optimum dimensions of distributing mechanisms may help in solving the problem of reducing the construction costs and increasing the capacity of end filling locks, existing and under construction.

     
  2. 2.

    The experimental work has shown that the lock filling time may be reduced by 10–20%, while the length of the stilling section may be reduced by 20–50%. The magnitude of the reflected force may be reduced by 30–50%.
