Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

During the construction of the Nurek dam the necessity of building a transport tunnel on a road in the reservoir area, not envisaged in the earlier plan, became evident.

  2. 2.

On completion of stage I a part of tunnel No. 3 will be rebuilt and used as a permanent structure.

  3. 3.

In the transport tunnel No. 3 a simplified lining consisting of reinforced-concrete anchors and sprayed-concrete lining of 5-cm average thickness has been used over considerable lengths. Systematic observations are being conducted on the behavior of this lining.
