Correcting the error of a flow meter by blunting the edge of the orifice plate

An analysis of the process in which the sharp leading edge of the orifice plate of a flow meter used for measurement of variable pressure drops becomes dull and of the substantial error in the measurement of flows which thereby arises are presented.
