Summary

After a review of previous classifications ofBacillus thuringiensis, the authors explain the present state of their classification which is now mostly used. Up to this time this classification includes twelve serotypes and seventeen typestrains. Furthermore, the study of other enzymatic characters such as DNase, RNase and arginine-dihydrolase gives a better differentiation of the various strains.
