Sesbania pachycarpa DC., adventice tropicale dans le Nord Cameroun, a subi au cours de la saison pluvieuse 1990 une attaque très sévère duChrysomelidae défoliateurMesoplatys cincta Olivier. Cet insecte apparaît comme un agent potentiel de lutte biologique contre cette mauvaise herbe, qui est devenue nuisible en Amérique du Sud.

Summary

Sesbania pachycarpa DC., a tropical weed in North Cameroon, was very severely affected during the 1990 rainy season by the chrysomelid defoliator,Mesoplatys cincta Olivier. This insect shows potential as a biological control agent of the weed, which has become a serious problem in South America.
