Summary
The entomogenous fungusMetarrhizium anisopliae (Metsch) Sorok. produces esterases and N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase in the integument of the ColeopteraOryctes rhinoceros L. The enzymatic activities are detected at the level of the mycelial filaments. Esterases are also present in large areas of the severely infected cuticle.
