Summary
This paper deals with establishment of a strategy ofTenebrio's larvae destruction with different combinations of two pesticides: DDT and a preparation ofBacillus thuringiensis. These two pesticides were first used separately in order to verify their toxicity levels when mixed with the substrate (flavour). Nine combinations of increasing concentrations of both pesticides were then elaborated; according to the kind of combination the interaction was shown to be either independently synergetic (for high levels), either complementary synergetic (for mean levels) or finally subadditive synergetic (for low levels). This variability of behaviour suggests a very careful utilization of synergetic properties of these pesticides. The results are related to the stimulating effect of DDT onBacillus thuringiensis colony size in culture.
