Abstract

The displacement ofAnagyrus antoniaae Timberlake byNeodusmetia sangwani (Rao) was demonstrated by reduced parasitism by the former in two localities after the latter was introduced into these sites. The competitive factors were: (1) the host-regulative action ofN. sangwani maintained a low host reciprocal balance, and (2) the inability of the female ofA. antoninae at the prevailing host density to find hosts sufficient for reproduction. The lack of competitiveness ofA. antoninae was a result of its inability to develop at high vapor deficits.
