Insect parasite complex of Berseem armywormSpodoptera exigua (Hübn.) [Lepidoptera, Noctuidae]

Résumé

La NoctuelleSpodoptera exigua (HB.) est un important ravageur de la Luzerne dans la province de Khartoum. Au cours de l'étude des ennemis naturels de ce Noctuide, 6 Hyménoptères et 2 Diptères parasites ont été élevés, à savoir:

  • - les HyménoptèresZelomorpha sudanensis, Chelonus (Chelonus) bifoveolatus, Chelonus (Microchelonus) curvimaculatus, Apanteles ruficrus, Euplectrus laphygmae, Bracon hebetor;

  • - et les DiptèresStrobliomyia palaestina, etPalexorista sp.

Le complexe parasitaire a été étudié par estimation du parasitisme naturel lors d'échantillonnages périodiques.

Parmi les parasites attaquantS. exigua, le plus important du complexe estZ. sudanensis. Il a été trouvé à toute époque de l'année et le plus haut degré de parasitisme (75%) se présente en novembre, lorsque la densité de l'hôte est la plus basse. Ceci indiquerait une action hautement significative deZ. sudanensis, du fait de son attaque sur les populations de chenilles à un bas niveau. Même sous les conditions adverses des mois d'été ses performances semblaient être bonnes. Quelques méthodes sont proposées en vue d'accroître l'efficacité des ennemis naturels au Soudan.
