Symptoms of toxicity or pathogenicity were not observed in white rats fed either whole-culture broth or mycelia of the parasitic fungusHirsutella thompsonii. This fungus is presently under consideration as a microbial control agent of the citrus rust mite,Phyllocoptruta oleivora.
